Eoin Rheinisch finished 16th in the European Championships in Bratislava. The course in Cunovo was straightforward until the Niagra drop which contained a double upstream move to finish. This move caused problems for the majority of the field. The first ten competitors took risky lines that proved costly. The semi-final was won by reigning World Champion Peter Kauzer from Slovenia. He went on to win the final with an awesome performance. Full results can be found here.

 

 
 
14th in European heats for Rheinisch PDF Print E-mail

In a highly competitive field at the qualification round of the European Championships, Eoin Rheinisch took 14th place with a fast and clean second run. He is just over 2 seconds off the leader and qualifies for the semi-final to be held on Sunday. Eoin's teammate Ciaran Heurteau finished a credible 26th in only his second major race since recovering from a severe shoulder injury. Also racing was Patrick Hynes and they combine their efforts in the team race tomorrow. Both Hannah Craig and Aisling Conlan compete in Women's kayak this afternoon.

Ciaran Heurteau competed today in the semi-finals of the U23 European Championships. He finished 15th overall with a touch. Finals are at 4 pm Irish time. Live results can viewed here

Last weekend saw the last competition of the World Cup series come to an end. The competition took place in Augsburg Germany. Competing for Ireland were

  • Mark Coleman

Our athletes struggled with a hard qualification course and only Eoin Rheinisch progressed to the semi final. The final results were as follows
