Hi all, I'm disappointed to say that owing to the water situation in Spiddal the Galway slalom event has been cancelled for Boluisce. Many of the local houses were without water after the recent cold snap, and the water that feeds the river is now being relied on to supply houses not only in the surrounding area but beyond. We will definitely be seeing a slalom event on Boluisce this year, but I won't be coming back to a rescheduled date for that it till after the varsities. If we come up with an alternative venue I'll let you know later today. However, I think a main attraction of the event to paddlers outside of Galway was the fact that Boluisce is an excellent venue for slalom, so we will have to decide if an alternative would be worthwhile at short notice.
